Highlighted — Last updated: April 15, 2026
Highlighted stores your saved highlights (text, source URL, page title, tags, and timestamps) locally in your browser using Chrome's built-in storage. This data never leaves your device unless you choose to sync to Notion.
If you connect to Notion, we use Notion's official OAuth flow to obtain an access token for your workspace. This token is stored locally in your browser and is only used to sync your highlights to your selected Notion database. We do not store your Notion credentials on any server.
We do not collect analytics, usage data, personal information, or browsing history. There are no cookies, no trackers, and no third-party scripts.
All data is stored locally on your device using chrome.storage.local. You can delete all your data at any time by removing the extension.
The only external service used is the Notion API, and only when you explicitly choose to sync. No data is shared with any other third party.
